Delete a YouGotThis account
You can delete your adult account and its associated data from within the app or request deletion without reinstalling it.
YouGotThis is for parents, guardians, and clinicians age 18 and over in the United States. Only adults operate the app; children do not operate its controls or create accounts.
Delete in the app
- Open YouGotThis and sign in to the account you want to delete.
- Select the visible Delete account control on the account or home screen.
- Review the permanent-deletion warning and confirm.
- Complete fresh provider authorization if the app requires it. Designated reviewers confirm with their app password; a linked Apple account may also require Apple authorization.
You do not have to accept newly revised terms to use the account-deletion path.
Request deletion without the app
- Email info@yougotthisapp.com with the subject Delete my YouGotThis account. Send the request from the adult account's email address when possible.
- YouGotThis will send a single-use verification challenge to the email address registered to the adult account. A request is not acted on only because it names an address or comes from a particular sender.
- After account control is verified, the operator removes the adult identity and application account data and, during the closed beta, removes the invitation from the store tester rosters and server access allowlist.
- YouGotThis sends completion confirmation to the registered adult account email address. The response does not include child or session information.
Do not send a password, sign-in link, SMS verification code, full phone number, child or client information, screenshot, photograph, or exported report in a deletion request.
Our internal team monitors info@yougotthisapp.com and provides a first response to support, privacy, and account-deletion requests within 24 hours. This is not a promise of completed deletion within 24 hours: account-control verification and the deletion steps above must be completed. The address is not an emergency channel.
What deletion does
- requests deletion of the adult sign-in identity;
- removes direct adult identifiers and account-security state from the application database;
- removes the encrypted local vault and its key from the device when deletion is completed in the app;
- removes closed-beta invitation and server-allowlist records when deletion is completed through the verified off-app process; and
- ends access to the deleted account.
What may remain
- Reports, photos, or other copies you previously exported remain under the control of their recipient or destination.
- De-identified security or audit records that can no longer be connected to the deleted sign-in identity may be retained.
- Limited information may remain temporarily in restricted logs or backups until their ordinary lifecycle expires, or longer when law requires it.
- Closed-beta invitation records may also exist in an app-store tester roster and a server access allowlist. In-app deletion does not remove those records automatically. Use the verified off-app process above to request their removal.
- Dedicated store-review credentials and reviewer-access records are managed separately by the review-access owner and retired through controlled offboarding. In-app deletion does not automatically remove those records or recreate the deleted account.
- If the app is unavailable, YouGotThis cannot remotely erase the device-only vault. Removing the app normally removes app-local files, but it does not by itself delete the cloud adult account.
